Base Camp Youth Group
Equipping STUDENTS to love God and love others . . .
A stellar team of leaders brings their creativity and genuine love for youth—middle school and high school students—to weekly Youth Meetings, and are committed to building long-term spiritually based relationships in small group personal setting.
Our Youth Ministry welcomes any young person, whether they be from another church, are non-Christian, or are a friend from school.
We encourage young people to ask questions, explore their faith and make it their own rather than simply a family tradition. We strive to make Youth Meetings relevant to their lives, engaging, and fun. We create an emotionally safe atmosphere where individuals are respected, listened to, and taken seriously. Our leaders are glad to engage in one-on-one mentoring, discipleship, and simply to simply to be a sounding board. They also share their own lives and hearts as they seek to connect with the students.
During the school year our ongoing programming includes a Sunday Morning Youth Bible Study (SMYBS) and a Youth Group meeting. Both are open to Middle and High School Students (grades 6-12). SMYBS meets Sunday mornings from 9am to 10am in the Youth Room (Room 9). It has a more intellectual, studious focus as students dig into biblical truths. Youth Group meets Sunday evenings from 6:30pm to 8:30pm also in the Youth Room. Youth Group consists of snacks, hang-out time, a Bible lesson, small groups, and games.
The Youth Ministry also offers monthly one-off events to give students an opportunity to grow closer, investigate different avenues of service, and have fun together.

Youth Service Event - College Cookie Baking
Our college bound students are back in school and homesickness is starting to kick in. To head that off, Basecamp is hosting an event to put together care packages for all of them. We will be baking assorted cookies and goodies, packaging them, and signing & addressing letters to the college students. This event is open to the whole church.

Youth Event - Game Night 2024
Basecamp is spending the evening together. Throughout the night there will be food, games, and activities galore. Students will be divided up into teams and given objectives to accomplish through the night. Each objective will have point values attached (based on difficulty) and the team that collectively wins the most points by the end of the night will be crowned victorious. Or students can completely ignore the overarching competition and enjoy time with their friends. It's a free a country.

Youth Event - D&D Adventures
Basecamp is having its first D&D event. D&D (Dungeons and Dragons) is a popular open-ended Role Play Game where a storyteller (Dungeon Master/DM) leads participants through a fantastical adventure. Students will break off into groups of 3-5 and choose from a pool of pre-generated characters that they will control in the game. Each group will have an experienced DM who will direct them through a quest that is shaped by their actions in the game. No equipment or prior experience with D&D is necessary. We will break for dinner in the middle of the night.

Youth Christmas Party 2024
The Youth Christmas Party is an annual event we do to close out the calendar year. It is a combined event for Middle and High School. In addition to normal Youth Group shenanigans we will be eating dinner (chinese takeout), having a tacky Christmas sweater competition, and doing a white elephant/yankee gift swap (with prizes for the best present & the best wrapped present). For dinner, a variety of Chinese food will be ordered and it will be served family-style.
